1. Purpose of Data Collection
CivicCapture collects photo submissions to support civic engagement, emergency response, community documentation, and public safety awareness. Submitted data assists campaign organizers and local authorities in understanding and responding to community needs.
2. Data Collected
The following data may be collected:
- Uploaded image files
- Timestamp and location metadata (if permission is granted)
- Campaign ID associated with the submission
- Device type (for system performance and analytics)
3. How Data is Used
Submitted photos and associated metadata are used to:
- Display in campaign galleries (for public campaigns)
- Inform civic decision-making and resource allocation
- Document community conditions and changes
- Analyze patterns and trends when multiple submissions address similar issues
4. Data Security & Sharing
All submissions are stored securely using industry-standard protections. CivicCapture may share data with:
- Campaign organizers (all submissions are visible to the campaign creator)
- Public viewers (if the campaign is designated as public by the organizer)
- Municipal agencies or nonprofits (as specified in campaign descriptions)
5. Data Storage & Retention
Photos are stored securely for the duration of a campaign. Organizers may archive or delete submissions at any time. Inactive campaign data may be removed periodically for storage efficiency.
6. User Rights & Content License
By submitting content to CivicCapture, you grant the platform and campaign organizer a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute the content for civic-related purposes. You retain ownership of your submitted content.
